LOCATION GUIDE

Choosing the location for your photos is a big deal! The style and color of your background influence your end result greatly! If you're a mama, bride to be, photographer, or someone who just wants to up your selfie game, finding incredible and unique photo locations is a necessity.

I have spent so much time researching Utah photography locations.

After years of shooting at these locations I decided to create the ultimate location guide.

THE SMALL GARDENS AT THANKSGIVING POINT

These gardens are stunning year round but they are full of color April-October
April through early June there are tulips and blossoms.
In this middle of summer, June-August the gardens are covered in colorful roses!

If variety between shots is important to you then this is the location for you!
Easy access to all the gardens!
Sometimes there are weddings taking place in some of the gardens. Be courteous to wedding guests.

TIBBLE FORK RESIVOR - AMERICAN FORK CANYON

This location is at its BEST February - June or late fall when the summer activities are not at their peek!
This is a perfect location for adventurous souls.
Neutral colors look stunning here as they allow the greens in the view to be the highlight.

In order to reach all the photo spots displayed here, there is a bit of trail walking.
If unable to walk trails, there is still many beautiful spots right next to parking.
It gets darker earlier here because of the way it tucks into the mountain. I reccommend starting your session at least 1.5 hrs before sunset

THE MARINA AT THE GREAT SALT LAKE

This location is beautiful year round! There are perks to going here in the spring. There are a lot of bugs at the lake starting in June lasting through the end of summer.
If you choose this location in the winter, the water will have stunning ice chunks and the sand has unique texture.
If you come during warmer weather months, you have the option to kick off your shoes and take some fun photos playing in the water
There is a $5 park entrance fee

THE SALTAIR AT THE GREAT SALT LAKE

This location is beautiful year round!
It is 5 min from the Mariana!
If you go during rainny or wet season be prepared to get a little dirt on your shoes.
Fun location for something unique

YELLOW FORK CANYON - HERRIMAN

This is a beautiful green location with out the long canyon drive!
Any car can make this road!
I LOVE this location during the fall season. The fall colors here are so bright!

This location is best in the evenings.
There is 2 trails and a wooden bridge.
There is parking right next to the trails and you do not need to walk far to reach photo destinations.

DOWNTOWN - SALT LAKE CITY

Perfect location year round.
This location provides so much opportunity for uniqueness.
Bold solid colors look great here so you do not blend into the chaous of the city.

There are SO MANY more incredible locations to choose from near and far away. This is just a start! Use this guide to determine your style preference. It can also be used to help you know what color schemes you love! It is important to remember that your photos should always represent YOU. If there is somewhere that is special to you and your family or significant other, go there! Your photos will mean more to you and hold more value in your heart if they have significance.
